WHY INDIAN CELEBRATE NAVYDAY ON DECEMBER 4
On the night of December 4, 1971, the Indian Navy launched Operation Trident against Pakistan’s Karachi harbor. The operation was a huge success: The Indian Navy\'s warships successfully sank four vessels belonging to Pakistan, which included the destroyer PNS Khaibar. Significant portions of Karachi\'s port and oil storage facilities were devastated.
