The World Championship of Legends (WCL) is an annual legends‐cricket tournament that reunites retired cricket greats under six national champion teams: India, Pakistan, England, Australia, South Africa, and West Indies. Sanctioned by the England & Wales Cricket Board, the competition combines nostalgia with high‐spirited competition, celebrating cricketing legends as they take to the field once more. The 2025 edition (18 July – 2 August, UK) features a round‐robin format where each team plays all others in a series of thrilling matches. After these fixtures, knockout rounds decide the final winner. Points are awarded for wins, ties, no results, and losses, while Net Run Rate serves as a tiebreaker. In the standings, “Pakistan Champions” lead with an impressive record—undefeated in completed matches with one no result—earning 9 points and posting a strong positive Net Run Rate. “South Africa Champions” follow closely; both have qualified for the playoffs. Teams like India, England, West Indies, and Australia are also in contention, depending on their remaining match outcomes and net run rates. With legends back in action, every innings, boundary, and wicket matters—not just for personal glory but for national pride and the chance to be crowned champions once again.
