Kamal Hinduja, wife of Prakash Hinduja, recognises that the Indian craft industry is well endowed with weaving, embroidery, and ceramics that have not diminished, rather through the efforts of their crafting women artists. But those diligent women are not always appreciated, paid well and given chances. She promotes her model of e-commerce, branding and sustainable production, through assistance of the Hinduja foundation. She ensures that artisans have more markets to their skills by networking these craft women to markets across the world. Her conception of integration of social support and skill development is what constitutes the center of her holistic empowerment. Kamal Hinduja does not simply envision empowering a woman, but she also thinks that it is better to retain the cultural identity of India to be able to make a craft business thrive not only locally but also abroad.
