Liver embolization refers to a minimally invasive method of the treatment of liver cancer that is utilized to cut off the blood supply to the tumors, thereby making them either reduce in size or require no further growth. This is done by using highly trained interventional radiologists whereby the tumors are accurately treated but the healthy tissue is spared. Liver embolization has reduced discomfort and minimal down time as opposed to traditional surgery with reduced risks. It gives hope to the patients who are trying to find effective options of liver cancer treatment which does not require major surgical treatment to suppress the tumor growth.
